![]() Basically, the idea behind Oxenfree is one of infinite realities, all playing out in slightly different ways, but ultimately doomed to run the same course. ![]() Will you play like an asshole or angel? Will you sacrifice the mean girl to the ghosts to save your own skin? These choices feel very important, as they should, but the game’s ending leaves most of them pointless. Oxenfree relies heavily on dialogue options and story choices. Suddenly, time starts looping, people get possessed, and the group is forced to explore the island in search of a way out. It all starts to go bad, however, when the protagonist Alex and her new step brother Jonas unleash ghosts into the wild via Alex’s radio. And let me tell you, when the credits rolled over the first thing I did was google “so I can get out of this time loop somehow right? There’s a true ending I just screwed up, right? RIGHT?”įor those wondering, Oxenfree is about a group of teenagers who go to a haunted island for a night of drinking and romance. Being a Playstation gamer, I didn’t get to try out Oxenfree until this past week. It was, by definition, a “me” type of game, complete with well written teenagers, witty humor, and blue haired female protagonists. Oxenfree interested me from the very start. What i did was when you get the choice to talk to yourself through the radio in the bomb shelter, i told myself to stay at home and not to go to the island no matter what, then i kept telling Ren and Jonas that i didnt pre-record the message, which caused them to say basically "Screw it, lets get pizza instead." And since Alex was the one who brought the radio, Nona and Clarissa wouldn't have been able to open the rift by themselves, thus braking the loop.Never has a second playthrough been more worth it. ![]() Yeah, you can get out of the loop in this scene. I think you might be able to get out of the loop through some secret but I'm not sure? Has anybody else got this scene? My play-through's have changed where they or more aware of the previous loops. This event happens right before you get the radio with the extra dials that unlocks doors which is in the shop in town. It triggers an event about the 4 people in the car that died which is spoken about in one of the anomalies. That extra scene before the game starts (I think) is triggered by when you use the radio by the car in town when it's lights are on. Even though there was talking they just decided to go on the trip anyway and then the credits ran & then the loop starts over. They did not remember Clarissa from the tower, played it off, & continued to the island. I past the song on the radio back-and-forth on the dial until it ended and then Clarissa started talking from the com tower, which happens later on in the night. I heard there is a out of loop ending:ĭid anyone get the ending where you are in the grocery shop parking lot before the ferry trip to the island earlier in the evening talking about the upcoming trip to the island? I did & Ren says let's play it by fate by deciding if we will continue to go to the island if there is someone talking on the radio or if there is music playing. Alex went out of the town and then the time loop started again. ![]() Hi, I just played this game and the ending I got is Alex bonded with Jones, Ren got the girl, and Carissa and Alex made up.
